Varisty Lions stayed in it til the end but North Gwinnett pulled away late in a 4-1 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at one til the fifth when North Gwinnett managed a couple hits to take the lead that they never relinquished.
The Lions got their run on a wild pitch by the North pitcher following a double by Kennedy Harp where she moved to third on a throw.
Elle Lunsford (8-6) took the loss allowing nine hits and four runs over six innings striking out four.
Harp, Lunsford, and Senior Alex Harris managed multiple hits with three by Harp to lead the team.
