Varsity Lions asserted their will over East Coweta on way to 8-2 victory in GHSA 7A State Tournament and advanced to final four.
The Lions were on the board first in the second inning following a triple by Senior Alex Harris and a successful sacrifice bunt by Jaylah Jarrell. Then in the third, Kennedy Harp hit a three run bomb scoring Juhles Kelly who had singled and Zaia Hammond who was struck by a pitch.
Elle Lunsford (16-10) gutted out seven innings again allowing two runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.
Lunsford contributed two hits to the tally as did Kelly and Senior Madison Strange. Senior Riley Hudson added a hit and scored a run and Sidney Strange scored twice as a courtesy pinch runner.
